Matt’s practice involves the law, business, policy, and (sometimes even) politics of drugs. Specifically, he focuses on psychedelics, cannabis, and other controlled substances, both in the context of healthcare/wellness as well as drug policy reform.
He began his career as a litigator with a national trial law firm based in Chicago. He was also a management consultant and worked in academia in Washington, DC. After moving to Colorado, Matt was a member of the healthcare practice group of an AmLaw100 firm, assistant general counsel to a health insurance company, and practiced corporate and regulatory law with a prominent boutique cannabis law firm in Denver.
Matt grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and lived in Chicago and Washington, DC before calling Colorado home. He prefers to be outside whenever possible, where he enjoys hiking, cycling, yoga, and camping. He also restores old British cars and likes building things in the garage. Matt plays some guitar and saxophone, and sees live music as often as possible. He also likes traveling to foreign countries, especially ones where he can practice French and Spanish.
