Update: This just in from OLCC; see updates and corrections to the previous information we published regarding CAMP.
On March 18, 2024, OLCC will turn off the lights on its current online cannabis licensing system and launch the delightfully acronymed “CAMP” (Cannabis and Alcohol Management Program) system. OLCC gave us a demo this week and we think it’s a vast improvement over the current system (not that heavy a lift), but the transition will be sudden and a little complicated for licensees. See some key takeaways from the demo to help you prepare:
No TransitionYes Outage Period – As of12:01 AM on March 18, 2024,March 14, 2024 at 5 PM we’re informed that the current system will be shut down and the system will be down and inaccessible until the new CAMP system goes live on March 18 at 8:00 AM. Applicants and licensees will not be able to submit applications or paperwork to OLCC through the online system while the transition is being made. But Metrc will still be active and usable.- Check Your Snail Mail – Existing licensees will receive their CAMP registration access codes from OLCC by standard mail. So, make sure to regularly check the mail at the mailing address OLCC has on file for your license. We’re informed that OLCC will start sending codes and registration instructions next week (February 26).
- Check Your Email – OLCC already has a dedicated page on its website for CAMP. It has also sent out a CAMP packaging and labeling email bulletin. Be on the lookout for more bulletins, which you can sign up for here.
- Find a Young Person – Find the youngest over-21 person you know to help you through the mechanics of setting up your CAMP account. The most difficult part of the demo for us was navigating the rather technical registration process,
which included downloading a special app on our phone before creating the account(apparently this extra level of security was just for us lawyers; typical). - Share with Your Authorized Rep(s) – If you have someone who helps manage your licensing and compliance (including your friendly regulatory lawyer), you should provide them with your access code so they can register for CAMP and access your license files.
We’re continuing to closely follow the launch and communicating with OLCC (we have many questions). Let us know if you have any questions. See you at CAMP!
